April.
Table of the Month, where to start. I was standing at my kitchen counter and it came to me! Truly, it was just dropped down into my mind. Not that it is a profound revelation of any kind, it is “just” table setting. However, I have come to believe that it is deeper than that.
I feel there is a longing for some of the formalities of the past. The attention given to the small moments of life has been lost. We traded fine china for scratched up ceramic plates, a gorgeous butter dish for the plastic container, a stimulating dinner conversation with loved ones for quick meals often in front of the television.
What started as fun creative project has evolved into a deeper pursuit of beauty in the mundane. To remind people that attention to the small details of life is worth while. This table was my very first table-scape in the Table of the Month endeavour. It was inspired by simple colours, the muted tones of early spring but the anticipation of summer. It was a wonderful way to kick off this new found interest of mine and I can’t wait to show you more.
